Ángeles Gordillo
Founder of Las Miradas Compartidas
I design spaces for encounter where people can listen to one another, learn together and build new possibilities for relating. This is the thread that connects my journey as a performing arts creator, a certified Nonviolent Communication (NVC) facilitator and a trainer.
Las Miradas Compartidas emerged precisely from this encounter: a space where dialogue, participatory arts and facilitation strengthen relationships, help us move through conflicts and open up conversations.
Before developing this project, I spent many years accompanying collective creative processes through the performing arts and directed a non-governmental organisation in the hospital sector. These experiences allowed me to understand, from within, the complexity of teams.
My practice integrates Nonviolent Communication (NVC), narrative practices, a systemic perspective and a feminist approach attentive to dynamics of power and privilege. An approach that seeks to explore the possibilities we have when building relationships and create the conditions for people, teams and communities to learn, collaborate and transform.
My interest in understanding how we live together and what makes it possible for a community to flourish led me to study Political Science and Sociology, a degree I continue to pursue at my own pace.

The possibility of co-facilitating and co-creating with Las Miradas Compartidas gives me the opportunity to tell the story of life in other ways: ways that bring people closer, include, care, laugh, and embrace the ungraspable and the absurd… I am excited to contribute to this project I deeply admire with presence, complicity and the creation of warm spaces where we can care for what is alive in each group, discover each layer with delicacy and give it lots of love, so that perhaps, why not, we can create possible worlds where nonviolence lands in everyday life: in our skin, our shoes, at the breakfast table, accompanying one another through mutual inspiration and tenderness.

I collaborate with Las Miradas Compartidas because we share an understanding of Nonviolent Communication as a tool for social change. I also strongly identify with the integration of narrative practices, which value the preferred stories of people and communities, recognising their knowledge, resources and possibilities. I am inspired by the way the project creates spaces for encounter, dialogue and care. I also greatly enjoy co-creating with Ángeles and shaping processes together that invite us to relate to one another in new ways.

I bring a transversal perspective grounded in an anti-racist and gender perspective. What attracts me to this project is its warmth, its loving approach to both the work and the desire for transformation, while including as many different realities as possible.

Production and fundraising
I support the production and fundraising of Las Miradas Compartidas’ artistic projects. I joined the project through (h)ovo, a proposal that connected me with the need to open up conversations about women’s experiences throughout life and contribute to a more conscious, equal and respectful society that embraces the diversity of our experiences. I am excited to be part of a project that uses art and dialogue to promote social change.

I love collaborating with Las Miradas Compartidas to try to translate everything the project wants to express into images, shapes, figures and colours. Always trying to bring a critical and diverse perspective that helps create new imaginaries, both visually and conceptually, and always working with care and good humour 🙂

Her projects always revolve around exploring our shared experiences. For me, it is a gift to witness these processes and capture the beauty and humanity that emerge when people truly meet one another.

At Las Miradas Compartidas, I am responsible for sound design, audio and music, and occasionally contribute creative ideas about form and content.
I love being part of a project that, through teamwork, brings artistic action closer to sectors of society that do not usually have access to it, while also generating community work and visibility that I consider essential today.
